Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 3) ➊ { الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ طِبَاقًا:’’ طِبَاقًا ‘‘} means layered, made one above the other. This is a verbal noun from the form "mufa‘alah." From the hadith of Mi‘raj, it is known that each heaven is separate from the other; thus, in each heaven, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) met a different messenger. [ دیکھیے بخاري، الصلاۃ، باب کیف فرضت الصلاۃ في الإسراء : ۳۴۹ ]
➋ In { مَا تَرٰى فِيْ خَلْقِ الرَّحْمٰنِ مِنْ تَفٰوُتٍ:}, you will not see any disparity in the creation of the Most Merciful (the heavens). When you cannot find any disparity in such a magnificent creation as the heavens, then how can you find disparity in other creations which are much smaller than this? The meaning of {’’ تَفٰوُتٍ ‘‘} is that you will not find anything in these great heavens or in any creation that is mismatched or disordered; rather, you will find balance, order, and uniformity in all, from which it will be known that they are created by the same Creator. One meaning of {’’ مِنْ تَفٰوُتٍ ‘‘} is that you will not find any defect or deficiency in anything so that you could say, "If it had been like this, it would have been better." (Qamus) With the word {’’ خَلْقِ الرَّحْمٰنِ ‘‘}, attention is drawn to the fact that these magnificent heavens and all other creations are the result of Allah Almighty's attribute of the Most Merciful.
{فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرٰى مِنْ فُطُوْرٍ : ’’ فُطُوْرٍ ‘‘ ’’فَطْرٌ‘‘} is the plural, just as {’’فَلْسٌ‘‘} is the plural of {’’ فُلُوْسٌ‘‘}, meaning a torn place, crack, or fissure. That is, if at first you did not see any defect or deficiency in the heavens created by the Most Merciful, then look again—do you see any cracks or torn places? The meaning is that in the entire universe, from the smallest particles to the heavens, and from the stars to the great galaxies, everything is stable and interconnected; search as much as you want, you will not find a single flaw.
