Surah Al-Mulk (67) — Ayah 25

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ ﴿25﴾
They say: "When will this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) come to pass if you are telling the truth.?"
وَيَقُولُونَ wayaqūlūna And they say
مَتَىٰ matā When
هَـٰذَا hādhā (is) this
ٱلْوَعْدُ l-waʿdu promise
إِن in if
كُنتُمْ kuntum you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ ṣādiqīna truthful

(Ayah 25) {وَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ …:} Their asking was not to seek information; rather, they were not even willing to accept that such a thing could happen. Their questioning of the Muslims was only for sarcasm and mockery.
