سُوْرَةُ التَّحْرِيْمِ
Surah At-Tahrim (66) — Ayah 7
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿7﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
(It will be said in the Hereafter) O you who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism)! Make no excuses this Day! You are being requited only for what you used to do.

(Ayah 7){ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَ … :} That is, when those hard-hearted and strong angels will throw the people of Hell into Hell, they will make various excuses and pretexts. Allah Almighty has mentioned their different excuses in the Noble Qur’an. (See A’raf: 38; An’am: 27, 24, 23) But it will be said to them that today do not make any excuses or pretexts, because it will not benefit you at all. You are being recompensed only for the deeds that you used to do. See also Surah Rum (57) and Surah Mumin (52).
