Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
The conjunction of {وَاٰخَرِيْنَمِنْهُمْلَمَّايَلْحَقُوْابِهِمْ … : ’’ اٰخَرِيْنَ ‘‘} is with {’’ فِيالْاُمِّيّٖنَ ‘‘}, meaning Allah Almighty sent this Messenger among the Arab unlettered people from whose lineage he is, and He also sent him among the non-Arab unlettered people who have not yet joined the Arabs by becoming Muslims, but in the future, after accepting Islam, will join them. For details, see the first benefit of the commentary of verse (2) of this Surah. Shah Abdul Qadir writes: "That is, this very Messenger is also for other unlettered people; they are the people of Persia, they too did not possess a book from a prophet. Allah Almighty first created the Arabs as the upholders of this religion, then later such perfect people arose among the non-Arabs." (Muwadhih)
