She that is to be examined · Medinan · Juz 28 · Page 550

Certainly, there has been in them an excellent example for you to follow - for those who look forward to (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day. And whosoever turns away, then verily, Allâh is Rich (Free of all needs), Worthy of all Praise.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 6) ➊ { لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِيْهِمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ …:} This matter has already been mentioned in {’’ قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ اُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِيْۤ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ ‘‘}; by bringing it again with the lām of oath, the intention is both to emphasize this command and, by bringing {’’ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَ الْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ ‘‘} after it, to clarify that Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his companions are not a model for those whose entire struggle is for the world, but rather they are only a model for those who hope in Allah and the Last Day.
{ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوا اللّٰهَ وَ الْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ:} For details, see the commentary of Surah Al-Ahzab (21).
{ وَ مَنْ يَّتَوَلَّ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيْدُ:} That is, whoever turns away from hope in Allah and the Last Day, Allah does not care about him, because He is indeed Self-Sufficient and Praiseworthy, and so Self-Sufficient and Praiseworthy that there is none other than Him who is Self-Sufficient and Praiseworthy. For more, see the commentary of Surah Fatir (15), Hajj (64), and Hadid (24).
