Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 3) ➊ { لَنْ تَنْفَعَكُمْ اَرْحَامُكُمْ وَ لَاۤ اَوْلَادُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ: ’’أَرْحَامٌ‘‘ ’’رَحْمٌ‘‘} is the plural of {’’ذُوُوا الْأَرْحَامِ‘‘}, kinship. What is meant is {’’ذُوُوا الْأَرْحَامِ‘‘}, relatives. That is, those relatives and offspring for whose sake you are committing such a great sin will never benefit you on the Day of Resurrection, so that they could save you from the punishment of this sin by saying that they made this mistake for our sake.
{يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَكُمْ:} can have two meanings: one is that Allah Almighty will judge between you. The second is that on the Day of Resurrection, He will separate you from your kin and offspring, and no one will care for anyone else, as He said: « يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ اَخِيْهِ (34) وَ اُمِّهٖ وَ اَبِيْهِ (35) وَ صَاحِبَتِهٖ وَ بَنِيْهِ (36) لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ شَاْنٌ يُّغْنِيْهِ» [ عبس : ۳۴ تا ۳۷ ] "The Day when a man will flee from his brother, and from his mother and his father, and from his wife and his children. Every person among them that Day will have enough to make him careless of others." In the previous verse, the condition of those with whom friendship is being made was mentioned, and in this verse, the condition of those for whose sake friendship with the disbelievers is being made is described.
{وَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ:} In this, there is a promise for the obedient and a warning for the disobedient.
