سُوْرَةُ الْاَنْعَامِ
Surah Al-An'aam (6) — Ayah 88
ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿88﴾

This is the Guidance of Allâh with which He guides whomsoever He wills of His slaves. But if they had joined in worship others with Allâh, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them.

(Ayah 88) {وَ لَوْ اَشْرَكُوْا لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُمْ … :} After mentioning the names of eighteen prophets, along with reference to their fathers, children, and brothers, it is stated that if, hypothetically, a prophet or his relatives were to commit shirk, then all their deeds would be rendered void. Because no matter how great a deed is, it is not accepted alongside shirk, as Allah addressed the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him: «لَىِٕنْ اَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ» [ الزمر : ۶۵ ] "If you commit shirk, then all your deeds will be nullified." It is not possible for a prophet to commit shirk; all of this is being conveyed for the followers.
