And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in the land and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 59) ➊{ وَ عِنْدَهٗ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ … :} That is, none among the creation has knowledge of the unseen matters; this is exclusive to Allah. From this it is understood that astrologers, pundits, geomancers, and those who claim knowledge of the unseen and tell people about future events are all liars and deceivers, and it is not befitting for any Muslim to go to them. See also Surah An-Naml (65). Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The keys of the unseen are five; none knows them except Allah: «اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَ يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْاَرْحَامِ وَ مَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌ مَّا ذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَ مَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌۢ بِاَيِّ اَرْضٍ تَمُوْتُ » [ لقمان : ۳۴ ] 'Indeed, Allah alone has knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs. And no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die.'" [ بخاری، التفسیر، باب : «وعندہ مفاتح الغیب…» : ۴۶۲۷ ]

{اِلَّا فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ:} That is, even the smallest and most hidden thing in this universe is recorded in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz).
