Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 47) {قُلْاَرَءَيْتَكُمْاِنْاَتٰىكُمْ … :}{ ’’ بَغْتَةً ‘‘} Suddenly, without any prior notice, that is, at night, and {’’ جَهْرَةً ‘‘} openly, in front of everyone, that is, during the day, as in Surah Yunus, Ayah (50): «بَيَاتًااَوْنَهَارًا » "at night or during the day." In the previous verse, it was only mentioned about taking away their ears, eyes, and hearts or sealing them shut, but now in this verse, they are being warned with a general punishment, meaning if Allah's punishment comes, you will not be able to escape in any way. As for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions, Allah will surely save them, because in all the previous nations that were destroyed, Allah's consistent method was that first the Messenger and his followers were commanded to leave the settlement of the wrongdoers, and when they had left, the wrongdoers were destroyed.
