سُوْرَةُ الْاَنْعَامِ
Surah Al-An'aam (6) — Ayah 2
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًا ۖ وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥ ۖ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ ﴿2﴾

He it is Who has created you from clay, and then has decreed a (stated) term (for you to die). And there is with Him another determined term (for you to be resurrected), yet you doubt (in the Resurrection).

(Ayah 2)➊ {هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ طِيْنٍ:} He created you from clay, that is, Adam (peace be upon him), and since all other people are the descendants of Adam, it is as if all were created from clay. In {’’ طِيْنٍ ‘‘}, the tanween is for disparagement, so it has been translated as "despicable clay."
➋ {ثُمَّ قَضٰۤى اَجَلًا:} Then He appointed a fixed term for you, that is, the time of death, and another term is appointed with Him, that is, the time of Resurrection, which only He knows; no one else has knowledge of it. Yet you doubt, that is, you do not even understand that the One who created you from a handful of clay can also bring you back to life.
