Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Before {كَمَثَلِ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ قَرِيْبًا ذَاقُوْا وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْ … : ’’ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِيْنَ ‘‘}, the subject is omitted: {’’أَيْ مَثَلُهُمْ‘‘} that is, the state of those Banu Qurayzah whom the hypocrites are inciting to fight and assuring them of every kind of help, is like the state of those who were near before them. By these are meant the Banu Nadir, who tasted the consequence of their breach of covenant; despite all their fortifications, military preparations, claims of bravery, and promises of help from the hypocrites and polytheists, they could not withstand even the first blow, and, leaving their lands, gardens, and houses for the Muslims, they were exiled in disgrace and humiliation. And for them, there is a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter as well.
