The Exile · Medinan · Juz 28 · Page 547

Surely, if they (the Jews) are expelled, never will they (hypocrites) go out with them; and if they are attacked, they will never help them. And (even) if they do help them, they (hypocrites) will turn their backs, and they will not be victorious.
لَئِنْ la-in If
أُخْرِجُوا۟ ukh'rijū they are expelled
لَا not
يَخْرُجُونَ yakhrujūna they will leave
مَعَهُمْ maʿahum with them
وَلَئِن wala-in and if
قُوتِلُوا۟ qūtilū they are fought
لَا not
يَنصُرُونَهُمْ yanṣurūnahum they will help them
وَلَئِن wala-in And if
نَّصَرُوهُمْ naṣarūhum they help them
لَيُوَلُّنَّ layuwallunna certainly they will turn
ٱلْأَدْبَـٰرَ l-adbāra (their) backs
ثُمَّ thumma then
لَا not
يُنصَرُونَ yunṣarūna they will be helped

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 12) ➊ { لَىِٕنْ اُخْرِجُوْا لَا يَخْرُجُوْنَ مَعَهُمْ وَ لَىِٕنْ قُوْتِلُوْا لَا يَنْصُرُوْنَهُمْ:} And it happened just as Allah had said: Banu Qurayza were put to the sword and the people of Khaybar were eventually exiled, but no hypocrite was able to come to their aid.
{وَ لَىِٕنْ نَّصَرُوْهُمْ لَيُوَلُّنَّ الْاَدْبَارَ:} This statement is made as a supposition.
{ثُمَّ لَا يُنْصَرُوْنَ:} It was common among the Arabs that sometimes they would flee the battlefield and then return to attack again. Allah said that even if, hypothetically, these hypocrites came to help them, they would turn their backs and flee, and they would flee in such a way that no one would come again to help those People of the Book.
