Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaitân (Satan), in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allâh permits. And in Allâh let the believers put their trust.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 10){ اِنَّمَا النَّجْوٰى مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا … : ’’حَزِنَ يَحْزَنُ‘‘} (S) To be grieved and {’’حَزَنَ يَحْزُنُ ‘‘} (N) to cause grief. In this, Muslims are given comfort that these whisperings of the Jews and hypocrites are actually the handiwork of Satan, by which he wants to make the believers grieved. If you see such a thing, there is no need to be overly worried, because without Allah's decree, Satan cannot harm you in any way, nor can these whisperings cause you any loss. Therefore, put your trust in Allah alone and do not become grieved, giving Satan a chance to be pleased.
