سُوْرَةُ الْحَدِيْدِ
Surah Al-Hadid (57) — Ayah 17
ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿17﴾

Know that Allâh gives life to the earth after its death! Indeed We have made clear the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to you, if you but understand.

(Ayah 17) ➊ {اِعْلَمُوْۤا: } "Know" — this does not mean that they did not know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death, rather it is just as He said: «وَ اعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِيْۤ اَنْفُسِكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوْهُ» [ البقرۃ : ۲۳۵ ] "And know that Allah knows what is in your hearts, so fear Him." The purpose is to listen to this matter with full attention, reflect on it, and always keep it in mind.
➋ {اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحْيِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا …:} In this, there is encouragement to turn to Allah, to make up for past shortcomings, and to instill hope for His mercy and forgiveness, meaning that if, due to your shortcomings, hardness has developed in your hearts and no softness arises from hearing the signs of Allah, then even now there is an opportunity to make amends. Then, when you turn back, that Allah who gives life to the earth after its death, He will also grant life to your dead hearts.
