سُوْرَةُ الْوَاقِعَةِ
Surah Al-Waaqia (56) — Ayah 8
فَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ﴿8﴾

So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands) - how (fortunate) will be those on the Right Hand! (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise).

(Ayah 9,8) {فَاَصْحٰبُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَاۤ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ … : ’’أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ‘‘} is the subject and {’’ مَاۤ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ‘‘} is the predicate as a sentence. The people of the right hand are those who will be given their record of deeds in their right hand. (See Haqqah: 19) The interrogative here is meant to express their greatness and high status, meaning they are of such lofty rank that a question is asked about what {’’ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ‘‘} are. Here, their status is mentioned briefly; the details are coming ahead in {’’ وَ اَصْحٰبُ الْيَمِيْنِ مَاۤ اَصْحٰبُ الْيَمِيْنِ ‘‘}. Similarly, in {’’ وَ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَاۤ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْـَٔمَةِ ‘‘}, the miserable state of the people of the left hand is intended to be expressed, how wretched it is; its details are coming in {’’ وَ اَصْحٰبُ الشِّمَالِ مَاۤ اَصْحٰبُ الشِّمَالِ ‘‘}.
