Surah Al-Waaqia (56) — Ayah 22
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ﴿22﴾

(Ayah 22) {وَ حُوْرٌ عِيْنٌ: ’’ حُوْرٌ عِيْنٌ ‘‘} is marfu‘, its conjunction is with {’’ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُوْنَ ‘‘}, meaning that cups of wine, fruits, and meat, etc., will be carried around them by {’’ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُوْنَ ‘‘}, and also by the “houris with wide eyes.” Some have said that this is the subject and its predicate is omitted: {’’أَيْ وَ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا حُوْرٌ عِيْنٌ‘‘} meaning, for them there will be houris in it.
