(Ayah 7) ➊ {وَ السَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا:} Here also, instead of {’’ رَفَعَ السَّمَاءَ‘‘}, in {’’ وَ السَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا ‘‘} the sky is mentioned first to draw attention to its importance and to the fact that raising it high is the work of Him alone; no one else has any part in it, so why worship anyone else? The mention of creating the sky is automatically included in the mention of raising it high. The raising high is specifically mentioned because creating such a vast sky without pillars and making it so elevated is extremely astonishing, as beneath it the sun, the moon, and galaxies consisting of planets thousands of times larger than them are revolving; neither do they face any obstruction from pillars in their path, nor is there anything hindering the light from reaching the earth from thousands of light-years away.
➋ { وَ وَضَعَ الْمِيْزَانَ: ’’ الْمِيْزَانَ ‘‘ ’’وَزَنَ‘‘} is on the pattern of {’’مِفْعَالٌ‘‘}, which is originally {’’مِوْزَانٌ‘‘}, meaning an instrument of measurement. "Weight" refers to the estimation of things being equal, less, or more in comparison to each other. One of the greatest blessings of Allah Almighty is that He taught mankind the method of measurement for determining the quantity of everything. This measurement includes all kinds of scales: weight, measure, area, temperature, coldness, pressure, humidity—in short, He granted the skill to make thousands of types of measuring instruments, through which people conduct their affairs correctly and in the best possible way. Without this, no task could be properly accomplished, and with these very measures, people conduct transactions with one another. If these did not exist, mutual transactions with peace of mind would not have been possible.
