Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 4) {عَلَّمَهُالْبَيَانَ:} Teaching includes many things, that is, He placed in him the ability to express, granted him the skill to coin words of various languages for expressing his intentions and to use them appropriately, from which thousands of languages came into existence, and gave him the power to convey what is in his heart with utmost clarity and beauty, and to understand the words of others. By virtue of this attribute, he understands and explains matters of good and evil, guidance and misguidance, faith and disbelief, and the affairs of this world and the Hereafter, and benefits by putting it to use. See also the commentary of Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah (31): « وَعَلَّمَاٰدَمَالْاَسْمَآءَكُلَّهَا» and Surah Ar-Rum, Ayah (22): « وَاخْتِلَافُاَلْسِنَتِكُمْوَاَلْوَانِكُمْ ». This sentence is also the predicate of the word { ’’ اَلرَّحْمٰنُ ‘‘}, and by coming in the form of a verb, it also creates specification like the previous sentences.
