Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The meaning of (Ayah 10){ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ ضَعَهَا لِلْاَنَامِ: ’’ اَلْأَنَامُ‘‘} is every living creature, that is, Allah Almighty has made and spread the earth in such a way that all the needs of the creatures are fulfilled from it—their coming into existence, eating and drinking, clothing, living, moving about, staying alive, and being buried; in short, every need and every convenience is connected to it. Although the word {’’ اَلْأَنَامُ‘‘} includes all creatures, here it refers to jinn and humans, because only these two will be held accountable, and further on, the favors are mentioned specifically for them. Elsewhere, Allah Almighty has said that He has made everything on earth for humans, as He said: «هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا » [ البقرۃ:۲۹] "He is the One Who created for you all that is in the earth." And He said: « وَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِي الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا » [ الجاثیۃ : ۱۳ ] "And He has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth." For references about the earth being made and spread for humans, see Surah Ra'd (3), Naml (60, 61), Ya-Sin (33 to 35), Ha Mim Sajdah (9, 10), Zukhruf (9, 10), Jathiyah (3, 4), Qaf (7, 8), Mulk (15), Mursalat (25, 26), Naba (6), and Surah Nazi'at (30 to 33).
