Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 34) ➊ {اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا:} The rain of stones that fell upon them after the overturning of the towns of the people of Lot is meant. See also Surah Hud (83).
{ اِلَّاۤ اٰلَ لُوْطٍ:} Not a single person from the people of Lot believed in him, not even his wife, who remained a disbeliever. (See Adh-Dhariyat: 36; Hud: 81) Therefore, here "the family of Lot" refers only to his children, with whom he himself was included. Allah Almighty did not consider a disbeliever as part of the Prophet's family or household, whether it be a wife, as in the case of Lot's wife, or a son, as in the case of Noah's son, about whom He said: « اِنَّهٗ لَيْسَ مِنْ اَهْلِكَ » [ ھود : ۴۶ ] "Indeed, he is not of your family."
{ نَجَّيْنٰهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ:} For its explanation, see the commentary of Surah Hud (81).
