Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 3) {وَمَايَنْطِقُعَنِالْهَوٰى:} The reason for forgetting or deliberately following the wrong path is that a person follows his own assumption or desire instead of the one who shows the right path. The real cause of the misguidance of the polytheists and all misguided people is that they follow assumption and their own desires instead of the path shown by Allah Almighty, as He said: «اِنْيَّتَّبِعُوْنَاِلَّاالظَّنَّوَمَاتَهْوَىالْاَنْفُسُوَلَقَدْجَآءَهُمْمِّنْرَّبِّهِمُالْهُدٰى»[ النجم : ۲۳ ] "These people are only following assumption and those things which their hearts desire, and indeed, guidance has certainly come to them from their Lord." Our Messenger is protected from misguidance and error because he only follows the path shown by Us; he does not do anything according to his own desire and will, not even speak from his own desire.
