Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 41) {اَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُوْنَ: ’’ عِنْدَهُمْ‘‘} By bringing it first, exclusivity has been created, therefore the translation is "or is the unseen only with them." That is, or perhaps they do not need to follow you because all the unseen is with them, and they themselves write their decisions from there, so they do not need this Book which you (peace be upon you) have brought from Allah Almighty. Here too, only the question has been mentioned, because its answer is obvious: to be the sole owner of all the unseen is very far-fetched; they are not even aware of a particle of the unseen. Then how can they be independent of Allah's Book and His Messenger?
