Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 28) ➊ { اِنَّاكُنَّامِنْقَبْلُنَدْعُوْهُ:} That is, before this, in the world, we used to fear Him, but despite our fear, we never despaired of His mercy; rather, we kept our hopes attached to Him alone. That is why we kept calling upon Him, kept praying to Him, and kept requesting Him for entry into Paradise and protection from Hell.
➋ { اِنَّهٗهُوَالْبَرُّالرَّحِيْمُ: ’’إِنَّ‘‘} Is used for reasoning, meaning He forgave our mistakes, saved us from the poisonous heat of Hell, granted us the blessings of Paradise, and united our loved ones with us, because He alone is the One who bestows immense favors and is extremely merciful. Whatever we have been granted is solely the result of His favor and mercy.
