Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
The antecedent of the pronoun in {یُؤْفَكُعَنْهُمَنْاُفِكَ: ’’ عَنْهُ ‘‘} is either the word {’’ الدِّيْنَ ‘‘} in {’’ اِنَّالدِّيْنَلَوَاقِعٌ ‘‘}. In this case, the meaning is that only he is led astray from it (the Resurrection) who was already astray; no person of sound mind can be turned away or misled by it. Or, the antecedent of the pronoun in {’’ عَنْهُ ‘‘} is {’’ قَوْلٍمُّخْتَلِفٍ ‘‘}, in which case {’’عَنْ‘‘} is in the sense of causation. The meaning would then be that certainly you are involved in a conflicting matter, due to which only he is led astray who was already astray; because of such conflicting matters, no person of sound mind can be misled. Remember that among the meanings of {’’عَنْ‘‘}, causation is an established meaning. An example of this meaning is this verse: «وَمَانَحْنُبِتَارِكِيْۤاٰلِهَتِنَاعَنْقَوْلِكَ»[ ھود : ۵۳ ] "And we will never abandon our gods because of what you say."
