Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 46) {وَ قَوْمَ نُوْحٍ مِّنْ قَبْلُ … :} Razi has mentioned a point here that in the mention of these five nations, there is an indication that Allah Almighty punished them with the very things that were the cause of their existence and survival. Those four things are: earth, water, air, and fire. The people of Lot were destroyed with stones of baked clay, Pharaoh and the people of Noah with water, ‘Ad with air, and Thamud were destroyed and ruined with fire.
