Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 24) ➊ { هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيْثُ ضَيْفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ … :} From here, for the consolation of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the help given to some prophets and the punishments that befell the nations who denied them are mentioned. The incidents of Ibrahim and Lut (peace be upon them) and their exegetical benefits have already been detailed in Surah Hud (69 to 83), Hijr (51 to 77), and Ankabut (16 to 35). A few points relevant to this place are mentioned here.
➋ Has the news of Ibrahim’s honored guests reached you? The purpose of the question is to make one feel the greatness, dignity, and importance of this incident, and also that you had no knowledge of this matter; it is We who are informing you of it through revelation.
{ ’’ الْمُكْرَمِيْنَ ‘‘} (Honored) It is said because the angels are honored in the sight of Allah Almighty, as He said: « بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُّكْرَمُوْنَ » [ الأنبیاء : ۲۶ ] “Rather, they are honored servants.” And our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also commanded: [ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ ] [ بخاري، الأدب، باب من کان یؤمن باللّٰہ… : ۶۰۱۸ ] “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest.”
