Surah Qaaf (50) — Ayah 15
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ﴿15﴾

Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, they are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection).

(Ayah 15) ➊ { اَفَعَيِيْنَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْاَوَّلِ:} This is the summary and conclusion of the argument whose details have been coming since the beginning of the surah: that when We created the heavens and the earth, rain, and all the aforementioned things at a time when there was nothing, and no fatigue befell Us from creating them, then is this poor, weakly-structured human being such a creature whom, after creating for the first time, We became tired and cannot resurrect again? Whereas Our act of creation is continuously ongoing, and resurrection is a trivial matter compared to the first creation. Allah Almighty has mentioned this in various ways in several places; see Surah Ar-Rum (27), Ya-Sin (78, 79), An-Nazi'at (27), and Surah Qaf (38).
➋ {بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيْدٍ:} That is, they do not deny that We created them the first time, nor that after creating them the first time, We did not become tired; yet despite this, they doubt whether We can create them again or not. Whereas with a little reflection, it can be understood that if any difficulty were to arise, it would have arisen the first time; the task of creating for the second time is much easier compared to the first.
