سُوْرَةُ المَآئِدَةِ
Surah Al-Maaida (5) — Ayah 8
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَآءَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ ٱعْدِلُوا۟ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿8﴾

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses; and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety; and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. (Ayah 8){ كُوْنُوْا قَوّٰمِيْنَ لِلّٰهِ شُهَدَآءَ بِالْقِسْطِ:} Its explanation has already been given in Surah An-Nisa (135), and similarly, the explanation of «وَ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَاٰنُ قَوْمٍ … » has been given at the beginning of Surah Al-Ma'idah. Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) writes: "Most of the disbelievers had great enmity towards the Muslims. When they became Muslims, it was said that you should not take out that enmity on them, and this is the ruling everywhere: in matters of truth, friends and enemies are equal." (Mawdhih)
