Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to mankind): "How do you worship besides Allâh something which has no power either to harm or benefit you? But it is Allâh Who is the All-Hearer, All-Knower."

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 76) {قُلْ اَتَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ …… :} This is the second argument against the belief of the Christians, meaning that those whom you worship do not possess any attribute of divinity (being worthy of worship). Let alone benefiting others or protecting them from harm, they themselves used to supplicate before Allah, beseeching Him to avert the oppression of their enemies, saying, "O Allah! Remove this time of distress from me." Then, after this, if you abandon the All-Hearing, All-Knowing and make Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام your deity, what could be greater ignorance than this?
