سُوْرَةُ المَآئِدَةِ
Surah Al-Maaida (5) — Ayah 53
وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَمَعَكُمْ ۚ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِينَ ﴿53﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And those who believe will say: "Are these the men (hypocrites) who swore their strongest oaths by Allâh that they were with you (Muslims)?" All that they did has been in vain (because of their hypocrisy), and they have become the losers.

إِنَّهُمْ

lamaʿakum
(were) with you
حَبِطَتْ
ḥabiṭat
Became worthless
أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ
aʿmāluhum
their deeds
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
and they became
خَـٰسِرِينَ
khāsirīna

(Ayah 53) {وَ يَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا …… :} That is, when the Muslims see the hypocrites siding with the Jews and disbelievers at the time of battle, they say in astonishment: Are these the same people who swore firm oaths to us that they are with us and are enemies of the disbelievers!! Now their reality has been exposed.
