Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 46) {وَ قَفَّيْنَا عَلٰۤى اٰثَارِهِمْ بِعِيْسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ …… :} Isa (Jesus) عليه السلام did not bring a new Shariah or a new religion; rather, he himself followed the same Shariah, and the Injil also commanded adherence to this Shariah. It is stated in the Injil: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the books of the Prophets; I have not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single dot or stroke will disappear from the Torah until everything is accomplished." (Gospel of Matthew: 5:17,18) The qualities of the Torah, the Injil, and then the Noble Quran have been described in {’’ هُدًى وَّ نُوْرٌ ‘‘}; the guidance of these revealed books is in the sense that they contain statements of the realities of this world and the Hereafter, and they are light (illumination) in the sense that they provide guidance for practical life for humans.
