Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 24) {قَالُوْايٰمُوْسٰۤىاِنَّالَنْنَّدْخُلَهَاۤاَبَدًا …… :} Those two men had said that you people should just enter the gate to attack them, that is, according to Allah’s promise and glad tidings, as soon as you enter, the enemy will flee. But they uttered an extremely insolent statement: “Go, you and your Lord fight; we will sit right here.” In contrast, at the time of Badr, despite the sudden confrontation with battle, the Companions of the Messenger (peace be upon him) demonstrated utmost determination, courage, and steadfastness. Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) said on the day of Badr: “O Messenger of Allah! We will not say to you as the Children of Israel said to Musa (peace be upon him): «فَاذْهَبْاَنْتَوَرَبُّكَفَقَاتِلَاۤاِنَّاهٰهُنَاقٰعِدُوْنَ» Rather, we say, you go forth and we are with you.” Upon hearing this, it seemed that all the worries of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) disappeared.
