Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 21) ➊ {يٰقَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْاَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ ……:} By this is meant Shaam; Palestine (Canaan) is the name of one of its regions, because it was from here that the Children of Israel went to Egypt, and this was their ancestral inheritance which Allah Almighty had decreed for them. There are explicit statements of this promise in the Torah: "See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them." (Deuteronomy, Chapter: 8)
➋ This address of Musa (peace be upon him) to the Children of Israel was at the time when, after leaving Egypt, they were encamped in the Sinai Peninsula and manna and quails were being sent down upon them. (Ibn Kathir)
