Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 119) ➊ {قَالَ اللّٰهُ هٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ صِدْقُهُمْ:} The greatest injustice and falsehood is to associate partners with Allah and to disbelieve, and the greatest truth and justice is the oneness of Allah and faith, that is, Allah will say that this is the day when the truth of the truthful will benefit them. That is, there will be no way for the forgiveness and pardon of the polytheists, but the people of Tawheed will surely benefit from their Tawheed, no matter how sinful they are. Thus, Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept reciting this verse in prayer until morning: «اِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَاِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَ اِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَاِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ » [ المائدۃ : ۱۱۸ ] Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that in the morning I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that you kept reciting this verse all night, even in your bowing and prostration, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By repeatedly reciting this verse, I pleaded with Allah for intercession, and Allah accepted my plea. Whoever from my Ummah dies without associating partners (shirk), he will receive my intercession." [ أحمد : ۵؍۱۴۹، ح : ۲۱۳۸۶ ] For {’’ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ‘‘}, also see Surah Al-Baqarah (177), Surah Az-Zumar (33), and Surah Al-Hujurat (15).
{ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ:} In comparison, even the greatest success of this world holds no value.
