Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 8) ➊ {فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَ نِعْمَةً:} This is the object of reason (maf'ul lahu) for {’’ الرّٰشِدُوْنَ ‘‘}, meaning these people are perfectly guided because of Allah’s bounty and His favor. It can also be the object of reason (maf'ul lahu) for {’’ حَبَّبَ ‘‘} and {’’ كَرَّهَ ‘‘}.
{وَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ:} That is, Allah Almighty did not choose them blindly, but selected them for the company of His Prophet (peace be upon him) based on His perfect knowledge and wisdom. He made faith beloved and adorned in their hearts, made disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience detestable to them, and set them firmly on the right path, because He fully knew their capacity and capability, and His wisdom required that He grant them this status.
