Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 10) ➊ The meaning of {مِنْ وَّرَآىِٕهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ: ’’وَرَاءٌ ‘‘} is both "behind" and "ahead." (See Kahf: 79) Because this word is used for something that is hidden from sight. That is, Hell is in their pursuit, or Hell is prepared ahead of them. Both meanings are correct.
{ وَ لَا يُغْنِيْ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَسَبُوْا شَيْـًٔا:} means neither their wealth will benefit them, nor their children (see Aal-e-Imran: 10), nor their good deeds, because if they did any good deeds in the world, they did them only with worldly intentions, so they will not benefit in the Hereafter, rather they will be wasted. See also Surah Furqan (23) and Surah Kahf (103 to 106).
{ وَ لَا مَا اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَوْلِيَآءَ …:} means those patrons and helpers whom they used to call upon in the hope of being saved from punishment and used to worship them, they will not benefit them in any way. Associating partners with Allah is a great injustice, as He said: «اِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيْمٌ » [ لقمان : ۱۳ ] "Indeed, shirk is certainly a great injustice." Accordingly, a great punishment has been announced for them.
