Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

By (Ayah 44){ طَعَامُ الْاَثِيْمِ: ’’ الْاَثِيْمِ ‘‘} is meant here the disbeliever, polytheist, and denier of the Resurrection, because previously they have been mentioned and further ahead in Ayah (50): « اِنَّ هٰذَا مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَمْتَرُوْنَ » (This is what you used to doubt) it is also evident that these people will not be believers, because faith is the name of certainty. In Surah Al-Qalam also, the word {’’اثيم‘‘} has been used regarding the disbeliever, as He said: «مَنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ اَثِيْمٍ » [ القلم : ۱۲ ] "One who is very forbidding of good, transgressing, sinful." In Surah Al-Jathiyah He said: « وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ اَفَّاكٍ اَثِيْمٍ» [ الجاثیۃ : ۷ ] "Great destruction is for every stubborn liar, sinner."
