How can there be for them an admonition (at the time when the torment has reached them), when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them.

(Ayah 14,13){ اَنّٰىلَهُمُالذِّكْرٰىوَقَدْجَآءَهُمْرَسُوْلٌمُّبِيْنٌ … :} That is, how will they be admonished by the proof of the punishment of smoke when a much greater proof has already come to them before this, and that is the clear Messenger, whose being a Messenger is absolutely evident and who has explained everything in detail. Despite this, they turned away and said that this is something taught by someone, he is mad.{ ’’ ثُمَّ ‘‘ } The word (then) is to express astonishment at their condition, that the coming of the clear Messenger was such an obvious and bright sign that there was no room to deny it, yet they refused to believe by accusing him of being taught and mad. Here Allah Almighty has kept the speech brief, otherwise, this is not the statement of one person or one gathering, rather someone called him taught and someone called him mad, in one gathering one accusation was made and in another, the other. The disbelievers used to accuse the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that some man teaches him this Quran; Allah Almighty refuted this. (See Nahl: 103; Furqan: 4 to 6) They did not feel ashamed to call that person mad who had lived among them for forty years before this and whom they used to call truthful and trustworthy. Then he brought such a Book that they were and will remain unable to produce even the smallest surah like it. Are madmen like this!?
