Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 64) ➊ {اِنَّاللّٰهَهُوَرَبِّيْوَرَبُّكُمْ:} This is the wisdom for which all the prophets were sent. {’’ رَبِّيْوَرَبُّكُمْ ‘‘} Because the predicate is definite, exclusivity is being established, and by bringing the separating pronoun {’’ هُوَ ‘‘}, the emphasis is further increased that my Lord and your Lord is only Allah; no angel, prophet, or anyone else is Lord. ➋ { فَاعْبُدُوْهُ:} The "fa" is for reasoning, meaning that when the "Lord" (the One who nurtures) is only Allah, then worship should also be for Him alone; this is the straight path. The purpose of quoting the words of 'Isa (peace be upon him) is to show that he never said that he himself is Allah or the son of Allah, therefore, worship me; rather, his call was the same as that of all the prophets (peace be upon them), and to which Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is calling you.
