Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 47) {فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اِذَا هُمْ مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُوْنَ: ’’ اِذَا ‘‘} is in the meaning of "suddenly." Here, some wording is omitted which is understood by context: when Musa (peace be upon him) invited Pharaoh and his chiefs to believe in the Oneness of the Lord of the worlds and in his own prophethood, they demanded that he present a sign. When he presented before them the signs granted by Us—the staff and the shining hand—instead of reflecting on them and believing, they immediately began to laugh at them and mock them. In this, comfort is given to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), because the chiefs of Quraysh also used to mock the signs he presented, as He said: « بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَ يَسْخَرُوْنَ (12) وَ اِذَا ذُكِّرُوْا لَا يَذْكُرُوْنَ (13) وَ اِذَا رَاَوْا اٰيَةً يَّسْتَسْخِرُوْنَ » [الصافات : ۱۲ تا ۱۴ ] "Rather, you are amazed while they mock. And when they are reminded, they do not accept the reminder. And when they see a sign, they ridicule it thoroughly."
