Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 30) {وَلَمَّاجَآءَهُمُالْحَقُّقَالُوْاهٰذَاسِحْرٌ … :} When the truth, that is, the Qur’an, came to them, they said, “This is magic, and we do not believe in it.” When they could not counter the powerful effect of the Qur’an on hearts—which caused those who believed in it to leave even their relatives but never turn back from faith, nor could they prevent others from believing in it—instead of accepting it, they denied it by calling it magic, saying that all this effect is due to magic. Even though the wrongdoers knew well the difference between something impure like magic and vile magicians, and the pure word of Allah and a person as pure and of high character as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). They said this only out of stubbornness and hostility.
