And you will see them brought forward to it (Hell) made humble by disgrace, (and) looking with stealthy glance. And those who believe will say: "Verily, the losers are they who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, the Zâlimûn [i.e. Al-Kâfirûn (disbelievers in Allâh, in His Oneness and in His Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم, polytheists, wrong-doers)] will be in a lasting torment. (Tafsir At-Tabari).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 45) ➊ { وَ تَرٰىهُمْ يُعْرَضُوْنَ عَلَيْهَا خٰشِعِيْنَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ يَنْظُرُوْنَ …:} At the time of being presented to the Fire, their condition is depicted as being humiliated, with their heads bowed and looking with a hidden glance, just as when someone’s hands and feet are tied and he is about to be struck with a sword, out of fear he closes his eyes, and then occasionally opens them slightly to see when the sword will fall upon him. Out of fear, he does not have the courage to open his eyes fully and look.
{وَ قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِنَّ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ … :} For its explanation, see the commentary of Surah Az-Zumar, Ayah (15).
{ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ فِيْ عَذَابٍ مُّقِيْمٍ:} This can also be the last part of the believers’ statement or the command of Allah Almighty. The wrongdoers, disbelievers, and polytheists are the ones who will remain in eternal punishment; He said: « اِنَّهٗ مَنْ يُّشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَ مَاْوٰىهُ النَّارُ وَ مَا لِلظّٰلِمِيْنَ مِنْ اَنْصَارٍ » [ المائدۃ : ۷۲ ] “Indeed, the reality is that whoever associates partners with Allah, then surely Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and his abode is the Fire, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.”
