سُوْرَةُ فُصِّلَتۡ
Surah Fussilat (41) — Ayah 35
وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ ﴿35﴾

But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient - and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and of a high moral character) in this world.

(Ayah 35) ➊ {وَ مَا يُلَقّٰىهَاۤ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ صَبَرُوْا:} That is, the ability to respond to evil in the best manner is granted only to those people who have already adopted the habit of patience. {’’ صَبَرُوْا ‘‘} is in the past tense.
➋ {وَ مَا يُلَقّٰىهَاۤ اِلَّا ذُوْ حَظٍّ عَظِيْمٍ:} That is, this quality of responding to evil in the best manner is granted only to those who are greatly fortunate. It is clear that this courage is not within human capacity; it is solely a gift from Allah Almighty. Therefore, along with one’s own efforts, it is necessary to pray to Him alone for patience and courage.
➋ {وَ مَا يُلَقّٰىهَاۤ اِلَّا ذُوْ حَظٍّ عَظِيْمٍ:} That is, this quality of responding to evil in the best manner is granted only to those who are greatly fortunate.
