Surah Ghafir (40) — Ayah 84

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا۟ بَأْسَنَا قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَحْدَهُۥ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِۦ مُشْرِكِينَ ﴿84﴾
So when they saw Our punishment, they said: "We believe in Allâh Alone and reject (all) that we used to associate with Him as (His) partners.
فَلَمَّا falammā So when
رَأَوْا۟ ra-aw they saw
بَأْسَنَا basanā Our punishment
قَالُوٓا۟ qālū they said
ءَامَنَّا āmannā We believe
بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah
وَحْدَهُۥ waḥdahu Alone
وَكَفَرْنَا wakafarnā and we disbelieve
بِمَا bimā in what
كُنَّا kunnā we used to
بِهِۦ bihi with Him
مُشْرِكِينَ mush'rikīna associate
