Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 48,47) ➊ {وَ اِذْ يَتَحَآجُّوْنَ فِي النَّارِ فَيَقُوْلُ الضُّعَفٰٓؤُا … :} After describing the fate of Pharaoh and those who blindly followed him as the Fire and on the Day of Resurrection{ ’’ اَشَدَّ الْعَذَابِ ‘‘}, it is explained that not only Pharaoh, but every arrogant person and his blind followers will enter Hell, and there they will dispute with each other. The word {’’ يَتَحَآجُّوْنَ ‘‘} (they will dispute with each other) indicates that the weak will say to the leaders: « اِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّغْنُوْنَ عَنَّا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ النَّارِ» (that we used to follow you in the world, so can you remove any part of the Fire from us?) This will not be a request to remove the Fire from them, but rather to humiliate them and to vent their own anger. The leaders will have nothing to say except that we ourselves are in the Fire, how can we benefit you!? At this, they will curse each other, but it will be of no use to anyone. Allah Almighty has mentioned their dispute in several places. For details, see Surah Al-Baqarah (166, 167), Surah Ibrahim (21, 22), Surah Al-A'raf (38, 39), and Surah Saba (31 to 33).
{اِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَدْ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ:} That is, the decision of Allah Almighty has been decreed, now you bear your punishment and we are bearing ours, we have no power to lessen or increase this torment.
