Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
None disputes in the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh but those who disbelieve. So let not their ability of going about here and there through the land (for their purposes) deceive you [O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, for their ultimate end will be the Fire of Hell]!

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 4) ➊ { مَايُجَادِلُفِيْۤاٰيٰتِاللّٰهِاِلَّاالَّذِيْنَكَفَرُوْا:} The meaning of "kufr" is also to conceal and to deny, and by dispute is meant to argue perversely, to reject and deny the signs of Allah, otherwise, the kind of debate and discussion whose purpose is to affirm the signs of Allah and to establish the truth is praiseworthy. Thus, Allah Almighty commanded the Prophet (peace be upon him): « وَجَادِلْهُمْبِالَّتِيْهِيَاَحْسَنُ»[ النحل : ۱۲۵ ] "And argue with them in a way that is best." And the people of Noah (peace be upon him) said to him: « يٰنُوْحُقَدْجٰدَلْتَنَافَاَكْثَرْتَجِدَالَنَافَاْتِنَابِمَاتَعِدُنَاۤاِنْكُنْتَمِنَالصّٰدِقِيْنَ»[ ھود : ۳۲ ] "O Noah! Indeed, you have disputed with us and argued with us excessively, so bring us what you threaten us with, if you should be among the truthful." Abraham (peace be upon him) debated with the king of his time and silenced him, as He said: «اَلَمْتَرَاِلَىالَّذِيْحَآجَّاِبْرٰهٖمَفِيْرَبِّهٖۤ»[ البقرۃ : ۲۵۸ ] "Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord?" Abraham (peace be upon him) silenced the worshippers of the sun, moon, and stars (see Al-An'am: 75–83) and silenced the idol worshippers (see Al-Anbiya: 51–70). That is, such a great Book, whose Revealer's attributes have been mentioned above, no person who accepts the truth would argue to deny its verses; only those dare to do so who conceal the truth and deny it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: [ اَلْمِرَاءُفِيالْقُرْآنِكُفْرٌ][أبو داوٗد، السنۃ، باب النہي عن الجدال في القرآن : ۴۶۰۳، عن أبي ہریرۃ رضی اللہ عنہ ] "To dispute about the Qur'an is kufr."
➋ {فَلَايَغْرُرْكَتَقَلُّبُهُمْفِيالْبِلَادِ:} That is, seeing the prosperity of these people and their traveling from city to city for luxury, trade, or other purposes, no one should fall into the misunderstanding that these are the favored people of Allah; in reality, this is a respite for them. See also Surah Al-Imran (196, 197).
