سُوْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ
Surah Ghafir (40) — Ayah 30
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ ﴿30﴾

And he who believed said: "O my people! Verily, I fear for you a fate like that day (of disaster) of the Confederates (of old)!

By {قَالَ الَّذِيْۤ اٰمَنَ يٰقَوْمِ … : ’’ يَوْمِ ‘‘} is meant a rare event that occurs to a nation in the form of a terrifying punishment or a great blessing, for example, the Day of Badr was a blessing for the Muslims and a punishment for the disbelievers. {’’ الْاَحْزَابِ ‘‘ ’’حِزْبٌ‘‘} is the plural, referring to those groups that gathered together in opposition to someone. When the believing man saw Pharaoh insisting on the opinion of killing Musa (peace be upon him) and all the chiefs remaining silent and thus supporting him, he cast aside the cloak of diplomacy and said to them in clear words, O my people! If you do not desist from intending to kill or harm the Messenger of Allah, I fear that a punishment like that which befell those groups who gathered against their prophets and denied them will come upon you, and then your glory, power, and armies will be of no use to you.
