Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
So, call you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and the believers) upon (or invoke) Allâh making (your) worship pure for Him (Alone) (by worshipping none but Him and by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allâh’s sake only and not to show off and not to set up rivals with Him in worship), however much the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh) may hate (it).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 14) ➊ {فَادْعُوااللّٰهَمُخْلِصِيْنَلَهُالدِّيْنَ:’’ الدِّيْنَ ‘‘ } means both worship and obedience. That is, when He alone is the provider of your sustenance, then make your worship and obedience sincere for Him alone, and call upon only Him, associating no one else in His servitude. ➋ { وَلَوْكَرِهَالْكٰفِرُوْنَ:} means that the disbelievers and polytheists will sneer at you for calling upon your One Allah, so remain steadfast in the worship and obedience of the One Allah, no matter how much the disbelievers may dislike it.
