Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 70) ➊ { وَ وُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ :} Every soul will be given full recompense for its good or bad deeds. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said from his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, among what he narrated: [ إِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَ السَّيِّئَاتِ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذٰلِكَ فَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كَتَبَهَا اللّٰهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً، فَإِنْ هُوَ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللّٰهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلٰی سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلٰی أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيْرَةٍ، وَ مَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كَتَبَهَا اللّٰهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً، فَإِنْ هُوَ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللّٰهُ لَهُ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً ] [ بخاري، الرقاق، باب من ھم بحسنۃ أو بسیئۃ : ۶۴۹۱ ] "Allah Almighty has written down good deeds and bad deeds, then He explained them. So whoever intends to do a good deed but does not do it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he intends it and also does it, Allah writes it down with Himself as ten to seven hundred times, or even many times more, in good deeds. And whoever intends to do a bad deed, then (out of fear of Allah) does not do it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a complete good deed. And if he intends it and also does it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed."

{وَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ :} That is, whatever deeds people are doing in the world, Allah Almighty knows them well. He does not need any writer, accountant, or someone to present testimony. But the record of deeds will be kept, and the messengers and witnesses will be brought, so that the proof is established against the people.
