Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 62) ➊ { اَللّٰهُخَالِقُكُلِّشَيْءٍ …:} After the promises for the people of Tawheed and the warnings for the polytheists, the mention of the arguments for Allah Almighty’s oneness and the refutation of shirk begins again. Ibn Ashur said: {’’ اَللّٰهُخَالِقُكُلِّشَيْءٍ ‘‘} and the next two sentences after it are a prelude to {’’قُلْاَفَغَيْرَاللّٰهِتَاْمُرُوْٓنِّيْۤاَعْبُدُاَيُّهَاالْجٰهِلُوْنَ ‘‘} and are evidence for worshipping Allah alone. The first sentence is {’’ اَللّٰهُخَالِقُكُلِّشَيْءٍ ‘‘}, and it is clear that when everything is created by Allah Almighty, then worship is also His right alone. Allah Almighty has repeatedly stated His being the only true deity as evidence by mentioning that He is the Creator of everything. See Surah Al-An’am (102), Ar-Ra’d (16), Fatir (3), Al-Mu’min (62), and Surah Al-Hajj (73).
➋ {وَهُوَعَلٰىكُلِّشَيْءٍوَّكِيْلٌ : ’’وَكَلَيَكِلُ‘‘} (ض) To entrust. “Wakeel” is the one to whom something is entrusted so that he may protect and oversee it and do with it as he wills. This is the second argument for worshipping Allah alone, meaning just as only Allah Almighty is the Creator of everything, likewise only Allah Almighty is the Manager and Protector of everything; neither is anyone His partner in creating anything, nor in its protection and management. Therefore, the command to entrust all your matters and affairs to Allah Almighty has been given repeatedly in the Qur’an. He said: « وَعَلَىاللّٰهِفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِالْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ »[ آل عمران : ۱۲۲ ] “And upon Allah alone, therefore, let the believers place their trust.” And He said: « وَعَلَىاللّٰهِفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِالْمُتَوَكِّلُوْنَ »[ إبراہیم : ۱۲ ] “And upon Allah alone, therefore, let those who trust, place their trust.”
